Boys Order of Merit - New rules & scores for 2008  
         

 

     Sandy Aird Junior Order of Merit

 

     Conditions of Competition.

  1. The above named competition is an aggregation of points awarded as undernoted for placings in any five out of eight events as specified below.
  2. There is no entry fee and no form of registration is required.
  3. The points are determined from the scratch score.
  4. Entrants require to be amateur male golfers who are members of a recognised golf club in the North District.
  5. The competition is open only to boys under 16 and 14 on 1st January 2008, that is two categories.
  6. Points will be assigned, ignoring competitors not members of a North District club, in each category as follows:-

         1st 21, 2nd 17, 3rd 14, 4th 12, 5th 10, 6th 8, 7th 6, 8th 4 and 9th 2.

  1. Prize vouchers will be awarded to the leading three players in each group, the amounts being £65, £50 and £40 in each case.
  2. Ties will be determined by the next best, sixth score and if there is still a tie, by the authorised representative of the North District at his sole discretion.
  3. The specified events are as follows:-

         1. Sunday 20th April 2008 Royal Dornoch.
         2. Sunday 27th April 2008 H R Spence Trophy North of Scotland Boys at Elgin
         3. Sunday 6th July 2008 R.P.B. Bain Trophy for North District Boys at Brora.          
         4. Thursday 10th July 2008 Moray.
         5. Thursday 17th July 2008 Nairn.
         6. Sunday 27th July 2008 North of Scotland Junior Open at Loch Ness.
         7. Wednesday 30th July 2008 Tain.
         8. Sunday 17th August 2008 Reay.
         9. 13th to 16th October Junior Matchplay (Qualifying rounds) Forres.


    10.  After each of the events the running points total will be posted on the North District website.
    11.  A prize giving ceremony will take place immediately after the last event.The North District requests the attendance of those who have won prizes.
    12.  The competition is controlled by the North District, whose Executive will determine all disputes and whose decision is final.
